The Student Counseling Center is a safe space for anyone who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer, or anyone who is questioning their own sexual orientation or gender identity. Students are encouraged to come in to talk with any of the counselors to help with the life-long journey of self-discovery.<\/p>\n
The PFLAG: Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays<\/a> Network–with over 400 chapters across the country–provides confidential peer support, education, and advocacy to LGBTQ+ people, their parents and families, and allies. View nearby PFLAG chapters<\/a>.<\/p>\n The LGBT Network<\/a> is an association of non-profit organizations working to serve the LGBT community of Long Island and Queens throughout the lifespan: Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY), The Long Island LGBT Community Center (The Center), Services and Advocacy for LGBT Elders \u2013 Long Island (SAGE-LI), and the Queens LGBT Community Center (Q Center).<\/p>\n With locations in Bellmore and Deer Park, Pride for Youth<\/a> is a service and an advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer\/questioning (LGBTQ) young people through age 30. Their mission is to enhance the health, wellness and cultural competency of LGBTQ young people through education, support services and youth development. They serve New York State\u2019s Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties.<\/p>\n The Transgender Resource Center of Long Island<\/a> is a 501c3 Charity created by members of the transgender community, their families, partners and allies who live in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Their mission is to elevate the transgender and gender non-conforming community. Their goal is to provide a safe place where everyone can come together.<\/p>\n Where everyone is celebrated for who they are.
