They may provide assistance in operating phone banks, staffing the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), or supporting Public Safety officers at the scene of an incident.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">All <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/safety-transportation\/emergency-protocols\/response-teams\/volunteer\/\">PEST volunteers<\/a> are provided training for disaster preparedness and hazards that may impact our Adelphi community, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">The ÃÛÑ¿TV Emergency Operations Plan<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">National Incident Management System (NIMS)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Emergency Preparedness<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Scene Size Up for Safety<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Incident Command Structure (team organization)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Emergency Medical Operations<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Mobile Command Vehicle<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Emergency Phone Bank<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Procedures for Media and Public Inquiries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Volunteer PEST members are expected to be actively ready to support our community during an emergency. To ensure all members are current with their training and skills, the Department of Public Safety will provide periodic refresher courses and new ones that are developed.
