Research Interests
Research Interests
My current research focuses on the digital preservation of slavery records and the ways that data science and artificial intelligence can help recover the names and lives of the people they document. I published an on the subject in 2025 and created the , a website focused on the hundreds of individuals enslaved by my Dutch ancestors in the New York-New Jersey region. The project allows me to combine my digital publishing expertise with my doctoral training in early American literature (Michigan, 2014) and my passion for public history.
